Alright guys, this might sound pretty crazy to you, but it works!!!
I've officially been trying to get my $5.99 T-Zones back for a few months now, and i've done everything from going into a store and basically pour my heart out into a representative behind the counter , TO calling 611 and speaking to the representatives behind the scenes (i've called WELL OVER 20 times...) .
And so, Havoc shall begin:
1. Called T-Mobile (611), spoke to lady about changing my service from $34.99 internet package to the $5.99 t-zones, and she said it was no longer available .... so I told her I wanted to switch to the $9.99 web2go plan, and she said I couldn't , because I had a smartphone...
2. I then told her that I would be using the web2go on my basic slider samsung phone, and she asked for the IMEI ... I told her I didn't have it, and i'd call back in a few minutes... but I asked her to (Note my account that I was switching internet plans)...
3. Called T-Mobile back (after getting my little samsung slider's IMEI), said (english), and then when it prompts for (what are you calling about), say "RETENTIONS" ... you'll go to the cancellation department..
4. The guy got on the line... I told him I was going to switch to the old $5.99 t-zones plan (which is grandfathered..), but the last rep needed my IMEI, which I didn't have...
5. I gave him this code (TZUNL599) and told him that SHE said to give it to him before I give him the IMEI..
6. Gave him the IMEI from the samsung
7. he SUCCESSFULLY switched it to the $5.99 plan
8. I typed in my APN on my iPhone
settings>general>network>cellular data network > APN = internet2.voicestream.com
settings>general>network>cellular data network > APN = internet2.voicestream.com
Note:
Sometimes, after switching internet plans, you'll go into settings>general>network> and (cellular data network) will not be there....
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
Upgraded to 3.0 and my APN settings were just gone and my 5.99 t-mobile wasn't working at all. Finally downloaded the iphone configuration utility from apple (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD) and created a new "configuration profile" the only thing I needed to do is give it a name, a unique identifier (another name), and in the Advanced section enter internet2.voicestream.com as the APN. Connected my iPhone to the computer and installed the new profile. Here's the important part: the APN option is STILL missing in my network settings, but my tmobile internet access is working now.... and i'm only paying $5.99 !!!

I am on the unlimited internet and messages web2go plan, which I switched over to on last friday. All during the weekend, the data plan worked fine with APN internet2.voicestream.com. This morning, Monday, I no longer have the ability to access anything that requires the data plan or internet via wifi. Could tmobile have prevented me from using the basic plan? I told them I had an iphone and insisted that the web2go would work on it.

guys i did the same thing i was paying the $24.99 for internet access and did the web2go for $9.99 and it was working fine and fast for like 3 days and now nothing from what i have read t-mobile flags the account and disables it so good luck and if you guys find the fix email me at jormile@hotmail.com

the only thing i have 2 say is that tmobile is going to lose alot of business sense they took way the web2go for non-tmobile phones sense magoraty of them have iphones or other smart phones.few days ago called tmobile because my internet was not working on my iphone3gs and they said just few days ago we cleaned out our system. and i asked them what do u mean cleaned out the system and they said that who ever is using web2go that is on a non-tmobile acount will have to update there data plan to a $24.99 data plan. so hopefully this works for me, if it does then ill let yall no

"epc.tmobile.com" worked for me using iphone configuration utility. I am on iphone 3.1 jailbroken and unlocked "internet2.voicestream.com" did not work

i found that using the sbsetting with the edge toggle works great when internet is disrupted also i have tzones 5.99 on one phone and 9.99 on the other iphone lol and both work great it seemed like the more i hacked my phone the more they offered me lol i have unlimited minutes 89.99 and month for 2 iphones lol

Ok. So I have an unlocked iPhone 3g w/Web2Go plan (T-Mobile).
Can't figure this out and maybe someone has some insight.
• Web2Go works on my iPhone 2g.
• Web2Go will not work my iPhone 3g. Tried all three apns, as well as Cydia T-Mobile packages, and a site that alters the config. No luck.
Anyone else running into these issues? Anyone solved them?

Update to post 11:
• Confirmed that my SIM card works and when I drop it into another iPhone (unlocked/jailbroken), internet works as expected (wifi turned off)
• Confirmed that when putting in someone else's SIM card (from another unlocked/jailbroken iphone), same problems exist when trying to access the internet w/wifi turned off.
• Re-unlocked/Re-jailbroke using different applications - doesn't fix the internet issue.
• Wondering if there might be a physical defect preventing the internet from working on this phone, yet still enables Wifi?
